The 49th Armored Division —nicknamed the "Lone Star"— was one of two armored divisions in the United States Army National Guard, redesignated from the 36th Infantry Division after World War II, and organized and federally recognized on 24 February 1947. Active from 1947-2004. Patch measures 4" wide by 4" high with hook and loop fasteners. Worn on the Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP) Army Combat Uniform (ACU).
